Online Film Photography Mentoring with James Richard

£250.00

If you’ve been feeling the pull towards film, whether you’re about to take your first rolls to a wedding or you’re already shooting film regularly and want more consistency, this is where we go deep.

I’ll set aside two hours with you online and we’ll focus on what will genuinely move the needle for your film work on a wedding day. Less theory for theory’s sake, more real world decisions, troubleshooting, and simple systems you can actually use when things get fast.

What it is

A two hour one to one mentoring session with me (James Richard), built around your experience level, your cameras, and the way you shoot weddings.

I’ve been shooting film for five years, and I’ve got a slightly unhealthy habit of collecting film and film cameras, so you’ll get the benefit of a lot of hands on trial and error, plus what I’ve learned from shooting, working with different labs, and figuring things out when it goes wrong.

Who it’s for

This is for you if you:

  • Want to start shooting film at weddings but you’re not sure where to begin

  • Are already shooting film and want more reliable exposures and better consistency

  • Struggling with shooting film in low light situations

  • Want to make film a more natural part of your offering, without it becoming a headache

How it works

Once you book, I’ll send you a short pre session questionnaire so you can tell me exactly what you want to cover. That way I can come prepared with answers, examples, and a plan that fits your goals.

Then we jump on a call and get into it.

What we can cover

We can go wherever you need most, for example:

  • Choosing the right film stocks for different parts of a wedding day

  • Choosing the right camera(s) for your style and approach to weddings

  • Metering confidently, including low light scenarios

  • Camera settings and workflow that keep you calm under pressure

  • Working with labs, scanning options, and getting consistent results

  • Building a simple system for shooting film alongside digital

  • Troubleshooting, what went wrong and how to fix it next time

The details

  • Length: 2 hours, online

  • Price: £250

  • Tailored to you: yes, fully personalised

  • Once you’ve bought your session, I’ll be in touch to get a date booked in

If you want film to feel less like a gamble and more like a tool you can rely on, this session will give you clarity, confidence, and a clear next step forward.
